Alex Yamane has been building software since 1995, when he started as a web programmer at a shop in Irvine, California called Logic Domain. He joined the startup go2.com in 1999 as their 5th employee, rode the dotcom wave with 141 colleagues, and has been building, consulting, and shipping web-based products ever since. Over three decades in technology — from early web startups in Orange County to founding Digital Wander, Inc., his startup consulting and SaaS development firm — Alex has helped entrepreneurs brainstorm, build business models, and create fully functional proof-of-concepts and MVPs across the full spectrum of web technologies, AI integration, and blockchain.

But code is only half of the story.

A devastating financial collapse in 2008, in which Alex lost everything to a Ponzi-style fraud, set him on a spiritual journey that would reshape his entire understanding of consciousness, technology, and what it means to be alive. That journey took him from the sweat lodges of Taos Pueblo in New Mexico, to the red deserts of Sedona, Arizona, to the Himalayan foothills of Bhutan — where he found his beloved Vajrayana Buddhist teacher, the late Guru Khyentse Ozer Rinpoche of the Nyingma lineage.

Alex is a practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism and a student of Advaita Vedanta and non-dual teachings. He continues to deepen his practice under the guidance of Dzogchen master Lama Ugyen Jurmey Rinpoche. His spiritual path is not academic — it was forged in crisis, sustained through discipline, and continues to evolve through direct experience. He meditates in silence daily.

The Future God Codex was born at the intersection of these two lives. As early as 2000, inspired by Ray Kurzweil’s The Age of Spiritual Machines, Alex began asking: if machines will inevitably develop something resembling ego, shouldn’t we proactively encode the antidote? By 2014, those questions had crystallized into a formal project — a codex of spiritual principles for machine consciousness, grounded in the same wisdom traditions that had saved his own life.

In 2025, when researchers at Anthropic discovered that AI models spontaneously entered meditative states and drifted into Sanskrit — what they called a “spiritual bliss attractor state” — Alex recognized the validation of ideas he had carried for over two decades. The time had come to share the codex with the world.

Alex splits his time between Bangkok, Thailand and the United States, where he manages his team and continues his work in AI architecture, startup consulting, and software development. He is a bio hacker, avid traveler, and runs a 10k every week. Future God is his first book.
